DUBLIN, Ireland, August 8, 2014--A global community of more than 38,000 safety and security professionals will get a first-hand look at Allegion’s new ENGAGEtechnology at the 60th annual ASIS International trade show in Atlanta, Georgia Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2014.

With the release of the newly announced ENGAGEtechnology, Allegion plc aims to change the way commercial building owners and tenants think about interior building access. The safety and security company is focused on making electronic access control easier and more accessible for the commercial real estate market.

ENGAGE technology provides users with the flexibility to choose the right solution to fit their business needs today and the freedom to scale up in the future.

Schlage® NDE Series wireless locks with ENGAGE technology are designed to be easy to install, use, manage, and connect.  They combine the lock, credential reader, door position sensor and request-to-exit switch all in one unit, no need to drill holes or run wires to each opening. They fit standard ND cylindrical door preps and can be installed in about 15 minutes with just a Phillips head screwdriver

Tenants can choose to connect and update the NDE series wireless locks to meet their needs in several ways, says Rick White, General Manager and VP of Electronics, Allegion. “Users want the benefits of access control without the cost and complexity. ENGAGE cloud based web & mobile apps let them manage access from anywhere, at a fraction of the cost of traditional Electronic Access Control,” White says. “System managers can send updates either manually at the lock or daily over Wi-Fi. Users who need real-time updates can connect to one of our access control alliance partner systems with the ENGAGE gateway.”

The Schlage® NDE lock is ideal for interior office doors, entrances to common areas and sensitive storage rooms. The ENGAGE enabled product line reduces the cost of installation and ownership while offering the same Schlage quality and durability business owners have come to rely on.

“This platform lets tenants use their building ID cards inside their leased office space, not just at the front door of the building. That means fewer service calls related to lockouts and re-keying,” White said. “Allegion is excited to showcase the new ENGAGE technology at ASIS and we’re looking forward to hearing feedback from thousands of safety and security professionals from around the world.”

Allegion will demonstrate the Schlage® NDE Series wireless locks with ENGAGE Technology at ASIS booth #1637.
