In 2022, Allegion remained competitive and committed to delivering innovative, high-quality processes, products and solutions.

As a testament to this, our company received notable recognition for environmental sustainability projects and our trusted brands. We also won a slew of awards from top industry and news publications for individual products.

Here’s a detailed look at many of Allegion’s wins.

ENVIRONMENTAL RECOGNITION

Allegion was recognized for its innovation and commitment to sustainable business practices with a 2022 Sustainability, Environmental, Achievement and Leadership (SEAL) Award for our water savings project at two manufacturing facilities in the Baja, Mexico, region.

SEAL’s Business Sustainability Awards recognize organizations in five categories, including environmental initiative, sustainable innovation, sustainable product, sustainable service and organizational impact. Allegion was given the Seal Award for Environmental Initiatives.

Our water reduction project uses reverse osmosis technology and automation to reduce the amount of water needed in the manufacturing process. It also allows the in-house wastewater treatment plant to increase its recycled water supply. The system was a collaboration between Allegion’s local team in Mexico and corporate environmental, health and safety (EHS) experts.

Another Allegion project recognized for sustainability involved the transformation of a cemented patio area at our Indianapolis, Indiana, Operations (Indy Ops) into a nature habitat with pollinator-friendly native plants. This proactive project earned a Wildlife Habitat Council Conservation Certificate, which recognizes biodiversity enhancements on corporate landholdings. The certification will be re-issued annually if the natural area continues to meet standards, including the types of native species and pollinators the vegetation attracts.

Developed by the facilities, maintenance and EHS teams, employees who work at Indy Ops can spend time in the natural area enjoying butterflies, bees, chipmunks and local plants during breaks. A QR code in the space allows employees to take surveys and submit photos of their own habitat observations. Overall, this updated space not only meets employees’ needs, but also improves Allegion’s local sustainability footprint.

BRAND AWARDS

For the third year in a row, Schlage was named America’s Most Trusted Lockset Brand by Lifestory Research. The organization’s study is based on nearly 5,000 surveys that asked individuals about their experiences and opinions with top lock brands.

“Schlage generated the best reviews and trust ratings among the most popular lockset brands rated by consumers,” Lifestory wrote, noting a 5-star trust rating among people actively shopping for locks. Schlage came out on top, beating its competitors.

For the second year in a row, Schlage was voted the best brand for smart locks in 2022 by PC Mag’s readers. Schlage, which PC Mag called a “venerable” company that has “adapted well to the times,” received the highest customer satisfaction ratings compared to other home lock brands.

In addition, Allegion Australia was named supplier of the year in the door and window hardware category by Dahlsens, a leading Australian trade hardware supplier. Our residential sales team there has worked to elevate Allegion’s relationship with merchant partners so we remain the brand of choice.
